In 1900 the population of Idaho was 162,000. By 1907 it had grown by 111, 269 to a total of 273,269. This map is Canyon County in 1907. That year the county population was 18,000. Canyon County covered 1,327 square miles. The county seat was Caldwell.
 
The red numbers denote the railroads at the time. They were:

1. Boise, Nampa & Owyhee. Pacific Exp.
5. Oregon Short Line. Pacific Exp.
8. Payette Valley

The line between New Plymouth and Emmett was projected.
